What Gets Reported and Why? Step Inside the Newsroom at Mic
Hosted by Mic
What makes the news? And how, as consumers, do you determine what is and isn't "fake" or manipulated? Go behind the scenes in the newsroom at Mic with editor-at-large and cofounder Jake Horowitz and correspondent Serena Daniari to watch how Mic's newsroom strategizes about and ultimately executes compelling ways to cover the most important stories and topics of our time. Since its founding, Mic has led the conversations around the movements shaping our culture. Reaching more than 50 million young people a month, Mic combines a boundless curiosity about how the world really works with an urgency to describe it and, when necessary, the courage to reveal how it fails us, especially those of us most underrepresented in society. During this session you'll see how Mic’s twice-weekly news show, Mic Dispatch, gets made, from the reporting to the production.
