Main Street—eBay’s new 20,000-square-foot welcome center in San Jose—seamlessly weaves digital and physical design to let visitors explore the eBay marketplace in real time. Using data visualizations and interactive media, Main Street brings the community of eBay buyers and sellers to life. For this behind-the-scenes session, Lars Kongshem, eBay’s director of corporate digital, will join Ed Purver and Emily Webster of ESI Design, to explore how they crafted a space that embodies company culture, brings the brand to life, draws innovative talent, and inspires employees. Then attendees will don virtual-reality headsets and “take a walk” down Main Street, where they can interact with touch-screen walls and be immersed in the eBay ethos
