For years, industry watchers have hailed the promise and potential of the New York tech scene, but the argument can be made that its reputation was at times was not always in line with reality. But with Verizon acquiring legacy tech cornerstones like AOL and companies like Sprinklr reaching $1B valuations, NYC is now starting to develop mature anchor companies. Meanwhile, a rich civic and philanthropic layer has begun to develop over the NYC tech community thanks to organizations like Tech: NYC. With all of these elements converging, it’s becoming clear that NYC tech is finally starting to catch up to its reputation. For this session, members of this community will discuss what makes NYC tech so special and what the future holds for the city.
