Description

Climate change requires design to be more resilient, but planning for resiliency requires new ways of seeing issues impacting communities. Architectural firm Perkins+Will's S.E.E. Framework helps stakeholders understand the social, economic, and environmental aspects of resiliency for better decisions in community improvements. It’s more than science: It’s also about how people and networks become knowledgeable and interconnected to create better experiences and better places. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the S.E.E. Framework, exploring how social, economic, and environmental factors affect the problem-solving process, using Perkins+Will’s work in Atlantic City as a case study. Then you’ll break into groups and tackle your own case study: rezoning in East New York. The framework is easily transportable, so you can take it home and help your own community #SeeChange.
