Today, 1 out of every 122 people is a refugee or displaced in some way. Design has a significant role to play in meeting the needs of this diverse and growing population, as they flee their homes in search of a better life. What does the refugee camp of the future look like? How do we enable productive livelihoods and education programs for families in transition? How might we build trust and understanding between refugees and the communities that host them? Designers from IDEO.org will lead a empathy-focused workshop to explore how design can meet these humanitarian challenges.
